Charlottesville: Winter Singing Confluence

We  invite singers of all (or no) faith traditions to join this day-long  multicultural evocation of the fading of daylight, the stillness of  solstice, and the rebirth of the sun. We'll gather to attune bodies,  hearts and minds as we spaciously mingle voices in Grace Church's  resonant chapel.

We'll  give voice to a rich mix of deep and simple songs and chants from  diverse composers and cultural traditions. All songs will be taught by  ear. Participants are welcome to join us just for the morning session.  For the afternoon session, we encourage folks to bring a song to share  and propagate in a round-robin session. We're  limiting this gathering to 20 participants, so please RSVP if you plan  to attend. This Singing Confluence is offered on a gift economy basis.  There is no fee for participating. Your contributions, both financial  and spiritual, help us to continue to propagate our Songtuary culture  with widening circles of kindred spirits.

If  you're coming from out of town and would like housing for an overnight  on Friday or Saturday, please let us know and we can help with hosting  arrangements.

Schedule: 9:30 - 10 AM  Arrive 10 to noon  Contemplayful singing Noon to 1:30:  Potluck lunch followed by a walk 1:30 to 3:30 Solstice Song Leadership Round Robin (Bring a song or chant to share!) 3:30- 4:00 Closing circle and goodbyes
